Shea Yeoman, a kind 14-year-old girl longing for a family, is adopted by the Church family after a family tragedy. She becomes “siblings” with Chad Church, a boy her age. However, Chad is cold and distant, having grown up under the shadow of his parents’ divorce. He views Shea’s sudden arrival in his life with hostility. When Shea moves into the Church household, despite facing Chad’s coldness and rejection, Shea tries her best to adjust to her new environment, hoping to fit into new family.
